Loss Control & Underwriting Services

SCI Inspections specializes in servicing insurance carriers, managing general agents and underwriters, writing Standard as well as Excess & Surplus Lines.

We provide a full range of professionally prepared narrative and custom format inspection/survey reports, which include Property/All Risk, Earthquake/Flood, Course of Construction (C.O.C.), Casualty, Workers' Compensation, Inland Marine, and Auto Fleet/Garage Liability inspections. We also have a dedicated staff for phone surveys.

Service Time
Our average turnaround for physical inspections is 20 days from the date of order. We can readily perform expedited service upon request (an additional fee may apply). We commit to completing all inspections within 30 days from the order date. In the unlikelihood of your inspection order being delayed greater than 30 days (less than 0.02% of our inspections), our staff will notify you via progress report of the reason for delay and the steps needed to complete the survey.

Phone surveys are completed in most circumstances within 10 days of order.

Quality
SCI Inspections consistently receives the highest recommendations from our clients for the quality of our reports. We will work with your firm to develop reports to fit your specific needs and budget.

Dedication to Getting the Job Done
Often insureds are difficult to reach, which generally results in an inspection being returned for non-compliance. We go the extra mile to assure that reports are completed. Our rate of return for insured non-compliance is an extraordinary 1% in an industry where 7-10% returns are the norm.

How do we accomplish this? We try harder. Most inspection companies will make a few attempts to contact an insured and return the inspection if they are unable to make contact. We go the extra mile with multiple contacts to the insured from the inspector, a scheduling representative, and our management if necessary.

SCI's office is staffed on a full time basis with professional inventory control, management and accounting personnel, on hand to always provide immediate service.

Experience & Qualifications

All field inspections are handled by a qualified group of experienced and licensed contractors. Our inspectors average over 18 years of experience. SCI is also a Member of the "American Society of Safety Engineers".

Management & History

The genesis of SCI was South Coast Inspections, established in 1987 to serve clients in California. SCI, Inc. was formed in 1991 and operations expanded to include the entire United States.

SCI's operations are fully insured. General Liability, Professional Liability and Workers Compensation coverages are maintained. SCI's philosophy is that the same standards that apply to your insureds should apply to us, so we gladly submit certificates of insurance upon request.
